There is really no reason why not, but at this point airplanes won’t really be needed as you can instantly transport yourself anywhere in the metaverse with the click of a link. But Boeing has other ideas!
The aircraft manufacturer recently announced plans to use the metaverse to design its next plane. Boeing is committing a whopping $15 billion over the next ten years for a total digital revamp, with plans to integrate its operations into the metaverse within two years.
Digital Twins
The estimates are that a brand new aircraft could be launched in as little as four to five years. Boeing will build digital twins of its designs with all the information on each design connected with a “digital thread” with all the information on each design including certifications, parts and airline requirements.
