Ellen Britt for CNT #NFT
If you were waiting on a really big player to signal acceptance for NFTs, then wait no longer. The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) just jumped into the game!
If Coco-Cola, Crocs, Lamborghini, and the NFL embracing the NFT marketplace wasn’t good enough to shake you out of your complacency regarding NFTs, this one ought to do it.
U.S. Patent and Trademark Filing
On February 10th, the NYSE filed a trademark application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office registering the name NYSE for several crypto and blockchain-related services as well as products.
The filing also specified NFTs as well as virtual reality and augmented reality software, plus an online marketplace.
Not Their First Rodeo
But this is not the NYSE’s first rodeo in the NFT arena, as back in April of 2021, they minted six NYSE NFTs to commemorate the first trades for Roblox, DoorDash, Unity, Snowflake, and Spotify.
The sound of the NYSE’s NFT opening bell is coming soon!
