NFTs are coming to Death Row Records if hip-hop artist Snoop Dogg has his way. He announced his plans on February 15 via the social media platform Clubhouse.

Just days prior to his Super Bowl halftime appearance, along with other artists Mary J. Blige, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, and Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg acquired ownership of the recording label.

Death Row Do-Over

His plans include making Death Row records an NFT label as well as putting out artists on the metaverse. He wants to be the first major record label to do so.

Snoop is not entirely new to the NFT space, as it’s rumored that he has a personal NFT collection worth more than $17 million under the name Cozomo de’ Medici, but that’s not been verified.

Stash Box

He also just released on February 9, with Gala Games, an NFT collection for his new album launch, “Bacc on Death Row.” This “Stash Box” NFT collection has already grossed a whopping $50 million in sales and holders got an NFT of one of the album’s songs.
