How Cruise Lines Are Handling the Return of Passengers

How Cruise Lines Are Handling the Return of Passengers

CLAUDETTE COVEY | TravelPulse.Com Troy Warren for CNT   The general consensus among travel advisors who’ve sailed in recent weeks is that cruise lines are meeting – and in some cases exceeding – passenger expectations. “Everyone I spoke with was just excited to be back on a cruise again. ‘I missed this’ was the common response,” said Chris Caulfield, a CruiseOne franchise owner based in Croton-on-Hudson, N.Y., who sailed on Royal Caribbean’sFreedom of the Seas from Miami.   “Royal Caribbean was clear about guidelines, so passengers knew before boarding what was expected.” He noted other than adhering to a handful of…

The Iconic Campbell’s Soup Can Is Getting a Redesign for the First Time in 50 Years

The Iconic Campbell’s Soup Can Is Getting a Redesign for the First Time in 50 Years

By Sarra Sedghi | FoodAndWine.Com Troy Warren for CNT New look, same soup. Product design is engineered to be memorable. If people can't pick out a certain brand at a supermarket, there's not much hope they'll buy it. When a company sticks with a particular design for decades, something about that item feels trustworthy. It's familiar and reliable and has stood the test of time, instead of fading to the clearance rack. It goes without saying Campbell's soup is one such iconic design. Andy Warhol's rendition immortalized the humble label. Holiday commercials with a smiling, melting snowman generate warm memories, too. So it's…

Phoenix: Post-vaccination travel rebound: Here’s how busy the Phoenix, Mesa airports were in June

Melissa Yeager | Arizona Republic Troy Warren for PhoenixNewsAndTalk.Com   If airline passenger numbers are any indication, the pent-up demand for post-vaccination leisure travel has been unleashed. Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport inched closer in June to a near return of its pre-pandemic traffic, while Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport saw its first increase in 2021 compared to 2019.  Sky Harbor reported 3.6 million passengers in June 2021. That's down just 5% from June 2019, when it welcomed 3.8 million. Overall, passenger traffic at Sky Harbor is still down significantly in 2021 compared to  2019. So far this year, 16.8 million passengers have used the airport,…

Goodyear: A year of free flights: Arizona man wins grand prize in United’s Your Shot to Fly contest

Melissa Yeager | Arizona Republic Troy Warren for GoodyearNewsAndTalk.Com   Ask any traveler and it's probably their dream come true: A year of free flights with a companion, any class of service to anywhere in the world. One Arizonan will live out that fantasy because he got his COVID-19 vaccination. Sean Husmoe of Goodyear recently received a phone call from United Capt. CJ Charlton telling him he was one of five winners of United's Your Shot to Fly sweepstakes.  "Are you kidding me? That's incredible! You enter a sweepstakes, you don't necessarily expect to win," Husmoe said in a video United Airlines shared with The…

Anycubic’s new Vyper delivers painless 3D printing

Anycubic’s new Vyper delivers painless 3D printing

Dan Ackerman | CNET.Com Troy Warren for CNT Of all the 3D printers I've tested, this new FDM model from Anycubic was the easiest to get set up and running right out of the box. When it comes to 3D printers, I value ease of use, simple setup and reliability above fancy features and even print quality. After all, if a 3D printer is hard to set up, hard to calibrate or requires constant tweaking and correcting, you're much less likely to use it, especially if you're just starting out.  The new Anycubic Vyper attempts to be both inexpensive and easy to use/set…

NATIONAL LASAGNA DAY

NATIONAL LASAGNA DAY

Troy Warren for CNT   NATIONAL LASAGNA DAY The best way to join in National Lasagna Day on July 29th is to bake up a pan of the Italian pasta dish. Another way to celebrate is by getting a table at your favorite Italian restaurant.  Due to lasagna’s broad noodles, the pasta lends itself to layering. A variety of ingredients such as cheeses, meats, vegetables, and sauces create a delicious blend of savory baked layers. For individual servings, roll similar elements into the pasta noodles. Since lasagna is one of the oldest kinds of pasta, cooks have developed quite a…
