Just when you thought you had heard everything there is to know about dogs, here we come again with more fun facts:

One – Dogs prefer to poop in a direction that is in alignment with the earth’s magnetic field

Two – The origin of the spiked dog collar was not to signify an aggressive dog, but was developed in ancient Greece to protect the dog’s throat from wolf attacks.

Three – In Russia, there are stray dogs who have learned to take advantage of the subway system, riding and getting off at favorite stops where they know they can get food.

Four – The world’s oldest dog breed is the Saluki, appearing in ancient Egyptian tombs dating back to 2100 B.C.

Five – The country with the world’s highest pet dog population is the United States, with pet dogs numbering approximately 75.8 million canines.
