According to Tradition, You Should Leave Your Tree Up Until January 6—Here’s Why

By Emily VanSchmus | BHG.Com Troy Warren for CNT #HomeGarden If you've been looking for a reason to keep your Christmas decorations up a bit longer, this is it. When it comes to holiday decorations, there are two kinds of people: Those who take down their Christmas trees on December 26, and those who aren’t quite ready for the season to be over. And while taking down the tree is usually less fun than putting it up, there’s actually another good reason many people wait to do it. So, if you’ve been looking for an excuse to keep listening to Christmas music and admiring your…

How YouTube Sidestepped Woes Over Apple’s Privacy Changes

BY J. CLARA CHAN | HollywoodReporter.Com Troy Warren for CNT #Digital Unlike Snapchat and Facebook, the video platform’s parent company, Google, has its own operating system — which came in handy when users started opting out of ad targeting on iOS devices. When Snap, the first major tech giant out of the gate with third-quarter earnings, revealed Oct. 21 an overall miss caused by Apple’s iOS privacy changes, shares tumbled 20 percent as analysts watched carefully to see whether the dent to targeted advertising would become a trend. For the most part, it has. Days later, Facebook (now officially rebranded as…

Check VIN before You Buy a Classic Car to Avoid Getting It Seized

BY STEVE LEHTO | CarAndDriver.Com Troy Warren for CNT #Cars Archaic laws in some states could see the government seize a car you just bought through no fault of your own. A man in Kansas who bought a 1959 Corvette has found himself litigating with the state in an attempt to keep them from destroying the car. The Kafkaesque situation causes shivers for other car owners but also points to steps all buyers of classic cars need to follow. This is a process I am quite familiar with. I had a client who bought a classic car from Michigan that was seized by…

Atlanta: How long will World Series afterglow linger at The Battery?

By Andy Peters - The Atlanta Journal-Constitution | Tim Tucker - The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Troy Warren for AtlantaNewsAndTalk.Com #EditorsPicks #Sports The Atlanta Braves’ World Series championship boosted Chad Scearce’s car wash business with the power of a Jorge Soler home run. Pristine Auto Spa, located in the Green parking deck at The Battery Atlanta, washes about 40 cars during a typical Braves game. A car wash comes with a paid parking space. During the playoffs, that number skyrocketed to 200 cars washed during each game. Whether that momentum will continue next season, and especially in the coming weeks of cold weather and no…

Why We Celebrate Friendsgiving—Including a Connection to ‘Friends’

By Emily VanSchmus | BHG.Com Troy Warren for CNT #EditorsPicks #Lifestyle None of the six friends ever said the word 'friendsgiving' on the show—but there is an interesting connection between the show and the tradition.  Friendsgiving is a relatively new tradition that I’ve wholeheartedly embraced. If you’re not familiar with the celebration, it’s basically a Thanksgiving dinnerthat’s shared between friends rather than family. Of course, I’m all for eating two Thanksgiving meals—especially when there’s pumpkin pie involved—but there’s just something about a day dedicated to celebrating friendship that gives me the warm fuzzies.  But where did the tradition come from? It’s become increasingly popular over…
