The casting means Waterston will appear in 17 of the show’s 21 seasons, as the revival is being billed as a continuation of the series that launched a multibillion-dollar franchise. It’s official: Dick Wolf’s original Law & Order series is returning to NBC. The network has handed out a straight-to-series order for a revival of the procedural that launched Wolf’s multibillion-dollar franchise.
